The challenge

The main challenge for Lottus was to upgrade its technology infrastructure to support its expansion goals and improve the quality of its educational offerings. The organization was looking for a solution that could handle the growth of its user base and the implementation of innovative educational programs, while maintaining high security standards and a seamless user experience. This challenge also presented an opportunity to rethink its approach to education, integrating advanced digital tools to enrich learning.

The solution

The high-availability architecture developed on AWS enabled Lottus Education to support thousands of concurrent users and efficiently manage its multiple Moodle systems. This architecture relied on a combination of leading-edge technologies, including Elastic Balancers, ElastiCache For Redis for caching, an Elastic File System cluster for data distribution, and an adaptive database with Aurora Serverless using PostgreSQL.

The implementation of Security Groups, Web Application Firewall, and private subnets ensured comprehensive security, while the use of Elastic Load Balancer and Auto Scaling Groups guaranteed high availability and scalability of services. The Certificate Manager provided an additional layer of security by using SSL certificates to encrypt communications.
